Coronavirus: India hold off domestic flights from 25 March

India has suspended Domestic flights till further notice, effective midnight 24th March 2020, to comprise the spread of COVID-19 pandemic which has claimed tens of thousands of lives around the earth.





"Domestic Schedule commercial airlines will stop working with effect from 25 March 2020," said a senior government officer till futher notice.


"No Domestic flights would be allowed to operate after 23.59 IST (1159 pm) on 2-4 March," the state said adding the government is yet to decide about when to restart domestic flight operations.


The State Said airlines will have to plan operations in such a way so that they are able to property by 1159 pm on 24 March.


The government's Latest choice to suspend domestic flights include after several nations like Bihar and West Bengal reached out to the central government to discontinue flights to comprise the spread of COVID-19.


The COVID-19 pandemic has somewhat lowered requirement for traveling, together with edge closures, travel bans and country lock reverses hitting aviation organizations world over.
